To cut weight and lighten your load, the housing is made of corrosion and impact-resistant polycarbonate polymer. The material is also temperature-resistant allowing for its use in extreme climates while reducing expansion and contraction that wide temperature swings can cause. Over time, the effects of this can make the optical components move out of collimation interfering with the optic's ability to achieve a crisp focus. Its optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance in all weather and conditions.
